South Dublin County Development Board was established in 2000, as part of the Local Government Reform Process, to facilitate the development of a strategy for the social, economic and cultural development of South Dublin County.
The County Development Board brings together for the first time at County Level, Local Government, State Agencies, Local Development Agencies and the Social Partners to promote an integrated and co- ordinated approach to the development needs of South Dublin County. The Board meets five times a year and is administered by the Community and Enterprise Department of South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Intellectual Enterprise Zones:
South Dublin County Council in partnership with the Dept. of Social Welfare, FÁs and IT Tallaght is launching a new initiative called Intellectual Enterprise Zones. This initiative is funded by the Dublin Regional Authority and targeted at professionals that are currently on the live register and aims to promote entrepreneurship and business start-ups through offering office space, mentoring and training.
